About us

Who We Are

Seven Oceans is a Tokyo-based international shipowner and operator, dedicated to delivering reliable and efficient maritime transport solutions across the globe.

Our diverse fleet serves a worldwide clientele, transporting chemicals, dry bulk, and gas with precision and safety.

Our mission is clear — to become a trusted bridge between Japan and the world, connecting global trade through the strength of Japanese quality and maritime tradition.

Founded in 1988 as a shipbroker, Seven Oceans built a reputation for integrity and market expertise. Following our acquisition by MiCo in 2015, we shifted our focus to ship ownership, evolving into a dedicated tonnage provider with a strong emphasis on quality, compliance, and long-term value.

In addition to our shipowning business, we are actively engaged as a dry bulk operator. We charter in vessels and operate them flexibly on the spot and short-term markets, leveraging real-time market intelligence and agile decision-making.

Since our inception, we have proudly supported local Japanese shipowners and financial institutions. This philosophy remains at the heart of our operations and continues to define our identity in the dry bulk segment. By combining Japanese precision with global perspective, we are building a business that is resilient, adaptive, and future-ready.

Business Model

Ship Owning

Seven Oceans owns and manages a modern, ocean-going fleet comprising Bulk Carriers, Product Tankers, Chemical Tankers, Gas Carriers, and Container Vessels.

We charter our vessels to top-tier international shipping companies under long-term contracts, ensuring stable and sustainable partnerships.

Backed by the support of trusted Japanese financial institutions, we maintain a commitment to excellence in vessel quality, operational safety, and environmental standards.

Our approach is not just about owning ships — it’s about delivering long-term maritime value through trusted partnerships and operational excellence.

Bulk Operator

At Seven Oceans, we believe in growing together with our partners. As a dry bulk operator, we charter in vessels from Japanese shipowners and operate them globally, optimizing voyage economics and minimizing market risks.

Our close collaboration with Frachtcontor Japan — our group company — enables us to act swiftly and strategically in the ever-changing spot and short-term charter markets.

Through this synergy, we offer not only reliable tonnage solutions but also dynamic, market-responsive operations.

We don’t just move cargo — we move confidence, relationships, and long-term value across oceans.
